Do you agree?

I’m still tracking my calories (my New Year’s Resolution) using the Fitbit app…so far so good. I’ve made it for twelve days! They say it takes 21 to create a habit, but I don’t know if I agree. I’ll tell you after I’ve done it for three weeks if it’s any easier.

What do you think? Does it take 21 days to make something a habit? Or is it something “they” say that’s a buncha bull?

My stats for January 11:

8735 steps taken

 23 floors climbed
 3.7 miles traveled
 1565  calories eaten
FYM Day 145: Advanced Workout A

  • I believe it takes two things to create a habit. A decision and a commitment. And they have to keep going. It’s too easy to say do something for 21 days and you’ll do it everyday. We all know that isn’t true. We have to change our mindset. We have to make the decision to change how we live and then change it. We may have to make that same decision everyday for the next year. Whatever it takes. I know if I change my mindset, I can and have experienced immediate change. Other things have taken longer. If we are “unlearning” something.. there may be something psychological but if we “re-learn” something.. we change the perspective. Day by day. It gets it done. Great post!
